| Samuel Fritz is currently a first year master's student at Bowling Green State University pursuing his degree in saxophone performance and music education. Fritz received his undergraduate degrees in saxophone performance and music education from Indiana State University in 1997. Fritz's saxophone professors include Dr. Paul Bro at Indiana State University, and presently, Dr. John Sampen at Bowling Green.
While attending Indiana State University, Fritz was active as a solo performer and as a member of the 4th Dimension Saxophone Quartet. Fritz was honored as the winner of the 1993 Paul Hagen Concerto Prize, which earned him a solo performance with the ISU wind ensemble. Fritz was selected three times as a performer on the Indiana State University's annual Contemporary Music Festival. The 4th Dimension Saxophone Quartet was selected to perform concerts at the North American Saxophone Alliance National Conference in Gainesville, Florida and the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. In 1997, the quartet was the only ensemble from Indiana State University selected to perform at the Indiana Music Educator's Association conference in lndianapolis, Indiana. Rhonda Taylor is currently a master's candidate in saxophone performance at Bowling Green State University, where she studies with Dr. John Sampen and serves as the graduate teaching assistant for ht e saxophone studio. She graduated summa cum laude with a B.M. in saxophone performance at the University of Arizona while studying with Dr. Michael Hester and Dr. Kelland Thomas. Ms. Taylor has had the good fortune to work with a variety of composers, including Bernard Rands, Robert Lemay, David Maslanka, Robert Morris, and Michael Colgrass. As an advocte of new music, she has premiered over 15 solo and chamber works for saxophone since 1996. |
