Jonathan Nichol is a student of Professor John Nichol. In the Mt. Pleasant High School Jonathan is first chair in the concert band, plays lead alto saxophone in the jazz band and is the drum major of the marching band. At the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association Solo and Ensemble Festivals Jonathan has received many superior ratings. Jonathan has won the Midland Music Society Contest and the Mount Pleasant Women's City Club Competition. Jonathan was first chart alto saxophonist in both Central Michigan University's and Michigan State University's Honors Band. He is an active performer and soloist and has performed with the jazz group the Usual Suspects and leads his own jazz group Night & Day Quartet. |
