SoundMoves is the resident chamber ensemble at Western Oregon University. Since 1991, the group has been commissioning trio works for this instrumentation. To date, the repertoire includes new compositions by William Albright, Robert Aldridge, Tom Bergeron, Laura Clayton, Nancy Bloomer Deussen, Art Maddox, Dave Rimelis, Joseph Rubinstein, David Snow, and Randy Snyder.
Diane Baxter and Tom Bergeron hold DMA degrees from the University of Oregon; Marion Schrock's doctorate is from the University of Michigan. Bergeron's teachers include Donald Sinta and J. Robert Moore, the latter of whom was a student of Marcel Mule. All three are Professors of Music at WOU. SoundMoves performs some 12 to 15 concerts per season, mostly in the Pacific Northwest. |

SoundMoves Blues, written for SoundMoves, was completed in April 1999, and is scheduled to be premiered by the ensemble in New Haven, Connecticut, in early 2000. |
