The Sonata for Tenor saxophone and Piano by Leonard Enns is a duo for tenor saxophone and piano in three sections (movements). Throughout the work Enns explores the relationship and juxtaposition of the two tonal centres of C and Db. The outer two sections are quite active and aggressive while the middle section is Iyrical. There are also areas where there are exciting and interesting rhythmic contrasts between the two instruments where each plays in a different metre.

Leonard Enns' works have a wonderful sense of lyricism and vocal qualities, which work beautifully for tenor saxophone This will be an excellent addition to the repertoire of the tenor saxophone.
