| Vanessa Hasbrook is currently working on a DMA in saxophone performance at the University of Illinois, where she studies with Debra Richtmeyer. As a graduate assistant Vanessa directs the Illini Jazz Lab Band, a University-sponsored regional high school jazz ensemble. She also teaches saxophone and assists in the jazz department. She received her Master of Music in saxophone performance from Baylor University, where she was a student of Michael Jacobson and a graduate assistant in saxophone and jazz studies. Vanessa received a Bachelor of Music in instrumental music education and saxophone performance from the University of Idaho, where she studied saxophone with Robert Miller. Vanessa has performed as a soloist and in saxophone quartets at national and regional N.A.S.A. conferences.
Connie Frigo is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Saxophone Performance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she studies with Debra Richtmeyer. Prior to returning to school, she spent six years in the U.S. Navy Band, Washington DC where she was a featured soloist and performed regularly on the chamber recital series. While living in Washington DC, she was on the faculty of the Levine School of Music. This summer, Connie is organizing and hosting a saxophone camp at the Levine School, the first camp of this nature in the area. Connie received her Bachelor of Music in Saxophone Performance from Ithaca College while studying with Dr. Steven Mauk. She has also studied with April Lucas and Dale Underwood. She has performed with the Maryland Symphony, the Empire Saxophone Quartet, and the Chicago Civic Orchestra. In 1997 and 2000, she was a member of prize-winning saxophone quartets at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. |
