Dan Goble was the First Prize winner at the 1993 Louise D. McMahon International Competition in Lawton, Oklahoma. He has been selected as a Quarter-Finalist three times at the Concert Artist Guild International Competition and has won or placed in numerous other competitions, including the the Ima Hogg International Young Artist Competition, the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, and the annual Down Beat Magazine Student Recording Awards.

Dr. Goble has performed as a solo recitalist and concert artist for audiences in the United States, Europe, and Japan and has appeared as a guest artist and clinician at major institutions throughout the United States, including the Crane School of Music, Bowling Green State University, he University of Alaska-Fairbanks, the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, The Manhattan School of Music and the University of Illinois.

His first compact disc, recently recorded at the American Academy of Arts and Letters in New York City, will include works by Charles Wuorinen, John Harbison, Charles Ruggiero, Kevin Isaacs, and Miles Davis. Recently, Dr. Goble performed with the Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra in the New York Premier of Thomas Adés' opera Powder Her Face.

Equally proficient as a commercial musician, Dan has performed with numerous outstanding artists such as Bob Hope, Mel Torme, Rich Little, The Temptations, Lou Rawles, Mitzi Gaynor, Debbie Boone, Jim Nabors, Steve Lawrence, Rosemary Clooney, Engleburt Humperdink, Nelson Riddle, and Della Reese. He has performed in the orchestras of National Tours of Cats, 42nd Street, A Chorus Line, and Sugar Babies and has performed as a soloist with the Denver Symphony Orchestra, The Lawton, Oklahoma Philharmonic Orchestra, and the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music Wind Symphony.

Dr. Goble is currently an Associate Professor of Music and is the Director of Jazz and Saxophone Studies at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, Connecticut. The Jazz Studies Program at Western offers a Bachelor of Music Degree in Jazz Studies which includes a comprehensive course of study including 2 Jazz Ensembles, 7 Jazz Combos, 2 Jazz Guitar Ensembles, as well as courses in Jazz Theory, Jazz Arranging, Jazz Pedagogy, Jazz Histoy, Jazz Improvisation, and Music Technology. Dr. Goble was previously a member of the faculty at Eastern Illinois University from 1986-90, where his students and performing ensembles achieved national recognition, including awards from Down Beat Magazine and the Notre Dame Jazz Festival.

Dr. Goble received his Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees from the University of Texas at Austin. His teachers include Harvey Pittel and Roger Greenberg (Saxophone), and Eugene Corporon (Conducting).
