Roy Elder: alto, soprano, and sopranino saxophones.

He studies trumpet, piano, tuba and trombone with Alec Cronin (Royal College of Music, London) during his adolescence. He studies saxophone with Sergio Paolucci and Isaac "Tito" Rauch. He attends Berklee College of Music, studying saxophone, harmony and composition among others. He attends different seminars of improvisation, composition and MIDI dictaded by Gary Burton and Dave Mash (Berklee College of Music).

He performs in Argentina and Latin America with: Lucho Gonzalez, Chango Farias Gomes, Matias Gonzalez, Magdalena Leon, Jorge Cumbo, Alejandro Santos, Malambo quintet, Olkar Ramirez (mime), Luis Borda, Beby Pereyra Gez (actress), Liliana Herrero, Fito Paez, Ruben Ferrero and The Diablomundo Theatre Group, among others.

He composes music for various musical plays: "Quien apago el arco iris", "El Publikornio", "Naufragos" (Diablomuundo Theatre Group) and "Eucalipto" among others. He arranges three (3) records for Liliana Herrero.

He teaches at different music and art schools such as: Tademus, "Esc4ela de Musica Ruben Ferrero", Escuela de Arte Escénico Diablomundo, EMU and Escuela de Musica Contemporanea (Berklee International Network).

He worked for various films as artistic advisor such as" Hombre mirando al oeste" and "Limite de riesgo". He translated various workshops and clinics for Berklee College of Music, Scott Henderson and Mick Stern in Argentina.

He produces variows clinics done by: Doug Wimbish (Living Colour), Joe Zawinul, Jack Dejohnette and Dominic Miller (Sting).

He has finished recording his second CD called: Melter in May 1999.

  3. The use of harmonics and overtones in his playing.
  4. His Scottish descent.
  5. His jazz influences.
