All members of the group have affiliations with the Adelaide Institute School of Music, which is part of the Helpmann Performing Arts Academy. Saxophone Congress

Amanda Thomas was born in Adelaide, is twenty years old and is currently in her final year of a Bachelor of Music Performance Degree at the Elder Conservatorium od Music in Adelaide. Prior to University, she was awarded a music scholarship at Immanuel College to continue her saxophone studies. She is a member of the Elder Conservatorium Wind Ensemble, which is recognised nationally for its excellence.

Amanda is a passionate advocate for classical and contemporary saxophone literature and hopes to promote such music, especially Australian compositions, in the future.

Rouslan Babajanov studied at the Alma-Ata Conservatoire of Music in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan (former USSR) where he completed his Bachelor of Music Degree in 1991 and his Master of Music Performer in 1993. After moving to Australia, he completed his Bachelor of Music Jazz) at the Adelaide Conservatorium in 1997. He has performed solo concerts and appeared as a guest soloist with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

Rouslan currently teaches saxophone at the Adelaide Institute School of Music.

Samuel Lower was born and raised in rural South Australia. He began learning the saxophone at the age of fifteen while continuing with flute and piano. Sam is currently working towards a Bachelor of Music Performance at the Adelaide Institute School of Music, studying both saxophone and flute. In July 1999 he took part in the William Bennett International Flute Summer School in Surrey and eagerly awaits his visit to Canada to extend his saxophone playing. Samuel's goal is to pursue saxophone and flute to a top level in classical, jazz and contemporary styles and to work and travel as a multi-instrumentalist

David Brookes played with Australian Army Bands in Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne between 1973 and 1993. During this time, he undertook many concert tours to remote parts of Australia, plus overseas tours to New Zealand (1988) and Athens, Greece (1991). Since 1993 he has played saxophone with a number of groups and currently teaches saxophone at two Colleges in Adelaide.

He is a former student of the Adelaide Institute School of Music.

Elizabeth Smith explores an interest in virtuosity, aural and visual experience. Written for Adelaide Institute Connection, this piece is named after a missing friend who's energy is reminiscent in this work.
