Takeshi Tsuchiya was born in 1968. He majored in composition and musical theory in Graduate School at Tokyo College of Music. Studied composition under Prof. Joji Yuasa, Prof. Shin-ichiro Ikebe, and Prof. Akira Nishimura. Reserched computer music and technic of electro-acoustics at IRCAM.
1993-1997 : Member of the composition group, The Present Music. 1996 : Finalist of 13th Japan Society for Contemporary Music New Composer Competition. 1997: Finalist of 66th Japan Music Competition. 1998 : SYNC, the CDMC commissioned work first performed in Unesco Center in Paris. 1999 : Commissioned by Pro Musica Nipponia, composed and first performed Information Transcript IV for 5 Sangen Players. Mr. Tsuchiyas principal works have been introduced by NHK-FM and others. As Part of his activities in the electronic music field, plays an active part in music and technology, including taking charge of programming and electro-acoustics for works by Ichiro Nodaira, Yori-aki Matsudaira, and Akira Nishimura. He resides in Tokyo. |
