Daniel McCloud

Daniel McCloud, originally from Kokomo, IN, recieved his bachelor's degree in music education from Ball State University where he was a percussion student of Dr. Erwin Mueller. Primarily self-taught and inspired, Daniel has never formally studied composition, but writes mainly for chamber groups of various instrumental combinations. He also composes works for large ensembles that have been played by the Ball State Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble.

Daniel has also proven himself as an accomplished marimbist. He was a member of the Ball State Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Marimba Ensemble, and also plays regularly in the Muncie Symphony Orchestra. Daniel was a winner ofthe 1998 Ball State Undergraduate Concerto Competition and recieved the opportunity to play with the Ball State Symphony and give a recital in Japan.
