The music of Warren Gooch has been performed throughout North America and Europe. His work has been recognized through awards, grants, and commissions by numerous national and regional arts organizations, and is available from Kjos, Alliance, Flammer, Plymouth, Southern, and other publishers. A native of Duluth, Minnesota, Gooch received his doctorate in composition from the University of Wisconsin, where he studied with Stephen Dembski and Joel Naumann. Other instructors have included Mary Mageau, Martina Hughes, Eric Stokes, Addison Alspach, and more. His broad compositional training is reflected in his own eclectic compositional style. Professional affiliations include BMI, Society of Composers, and many other organizations.
Gooch currently serves as Chair of the Theory/Composition area at Truman State University, where he has twice been a finalist for that university's "Educator of the Year" award. |
