Nancy Trithart Faber

Nancy Trithart Faber was named "1997 Distinguished Composer of the Year" by the Music Teachers National Association for her award winning composition Tennessee Suite for Piano and String Quartet. Her flute quartet Voices from Between Worlds was the winning composition for the 1994 National Flute Association's Professional Chamber Music Competition. She has received commissions from Clavier magazine, The Hattiesburg Composer Festival, Michigan Music Teachers Association, and various performing ensembles.

Ms. Faber's music has been heard on public radio and her teaching piece Willow Tree Waltz has been featured on the network television show Major Dad. Her teachers of composition include Joan Tower, William Albright, and British composer Nicholas Maw; her piano studies were at the Eastman School and Michigan State University. She has taken her Masters degree in composition from the Milton Avery graduate School at Bard.

Ms. Faber is well know to piano teachers and students throughout North America for her piano teaching pieces. Together with her husband, she has authored the acclaimed Piano Adventures method for piano and over a hundred best-selling publications for piano.
