Composer in residence, Camargo Foundation (Cassis, France), 1984 and 1993, Rockefeller Foundation (Bellagio, Italy), 1987. Residencies at MacDowell, Yaddo and Millay artist colonies.

Recordings on Opus One, Centaur, Neuma, Koch International, Vienna Modern Masters, and The Aerial. Awards from NEA, Tanglewood, American Chamber Symphony. Extensive performances throughout the United States and Europe. Publications by American Composers' Edition and Boosey & Hawkes. Codirector, Extension Works (Boston), 1986-.
